Shack Showcase N3WDZ
N3WDZ After installing a ceramic tile countertop in a converted broom closet at the top of the staircase, in went the FT-857 and power supply. On the left is my trusty HTX-202 2m HT. Also shown, but not normally kept in the shack are my FT- 7800 2m/440 mobile rig and a now defunct TM221A. Parallel dipoles in the attic on 20 and 40 meters see action at least once per week on the HF bands. A 6 meter copper- cactus J-pole in the front yard gets me on the Amateur Radio Above 30 Megacycles net on Thursdays at 9:30EST. A PowerMac G3 running MacOS X serves duty for PSK31, EchoLink, and QSL lookup. A replica of an Edison bulb illuminates the room during HF operation, to eliminate QRN from the track lighting. Many thanks to friends who helped drywall and paint the room.
