Mark-V FT-1000MP Field ... Day

What better way to break in a new Mark-V FT-1000MP "Field" than at FIELD Day? The new rig performed like a champ from a deep-cycle marine battery into a 20-meter dipole. The contacts were nonstop. Hardly ever had to use my MFJ-962C antenna tuner (note the addition of vernier tuning dials from Ocean State Electronics -- they REALLY make the MFJ a joy to use!). Yes, by the way, that is a HAM sandwich.

Rigs include an IC751, IC706mkIIg, and an SW RockMite 20. I have an R5 vertical, a 120' lazy dipole, a BuddiPole, and a JPole in the air. I also have a key collection brewing, including a '26 Vibro, '56 Lafayette, a Bencher BY2, and a NorCal K8FF iambic key with magnetic action.
