N8XD Detroit Metro Youth Day
A little over 1000 kids passed through our station as the Saginaw Valley Amateur Radio Association participated in the Detroit Metro Youth Day. The radio club provided FRS Radios, an oscilloscope with microphone, and Morse code learning sections for the event. The kids (and their parents) loved the Morse code the best.

I'm looking for a replacement knob for the RIT control of an IC-706. Anything that will fit with or without the "hairline" position indicator. Thanks for the b/w bunkybotts@juno.com

Field Day 2008:
A contributor asks, "Did you participate in Field Day this year? If so, where did you operate and what bands/modes did you use? Were you alone or with a club? How many people turned out? How did it compare with previous events? Please share all of your experiences."

This is my entry level HF station and first time setting up shack in America. I am a foreign student and ham from Thailand (HS, E2) I brought SWR meter, morse key and a couple of morse code practice cassettes with me after I came back from home visit last summer. Hope to be a good start even I have never operated the radio since it was purchased in April!!!
